Today marks 1 week that John Dales; owner of BacklinksPhilippines.com, started backlinking one of my micro niche sites. You can read the stats and background information on my original post.
I saw immediate movement in ranking higher in just 2 days. When I gave John my site information, the site was ranking at #11. Just two days after the backlinking began, the website jumped to #7. Now, here we are 1 week later and the site has been sitting at #5 for the past 5 days.
The website now has 106 backlinks to the main page with 10 that I can identify as being 100% from profiles made by the Backlinks Philippines team. (I still have some of my blog commenting links dropping off).
Here are the additional backlinks on the other four pages specifically from Backlinks Philippines:
keyword #2 for page 2: 7 backlinks
keyword #3 for page 3: 8 backlinks
keyword #4 for page 4: 9 backlinks
keyword #5 for page 5: 7 backlinks
As of right now, none of my inner pages are ranking. They are all beyond page 4. It will be interesting to see if this changes in a few weeks or even a few months.
As you can see, the back links are dripping in very slowly but they are still getting indexed in a timely manner. This is great news because they are helping with ranking right away yet they are natural looking because it is slowly done.
I installed Google analytics to the site on may 23, 2010 and John’s team had already begun back linking on the 21st so keep this in mind when you look at the traffic report below. These are the unique visitors:
These is the traffic sources. I was surprised to see that I got 2% of my traffic from blogs web 2.0 blogs I had not created myself and I am not sure who created them but the blogs had contained my exact keywords and had my webpage’s content on it. The post had my keyword link that was linking back to my main page too. I am not sure if John’s team creates web 2.0 properties or what but I know I did not create them.
And finally some earning reports. Its only natural that since there has been quite a significant amount in movement that the earnings for the site have nearly doubled what it had earned the week before when it was still ranking at #11. It only earned $5.52 the week prior.
And one week after using Backlinks Philippines, my earnings nearly doubled.
I am very pleased with the results so far and even though it has only been a week, I plan on using John’s Backlinks Philippines for other micro niche sites that could use a boost in rankings and earnings.

This is some good news. I’m going to give them a look and see if I can afford it. My first site has been sitting on page 1 for a week now, but my second site came in on page 3 just this morning so I have some work to do there.

This is typical of John’s work. I have noticed from my experience that it usually takes a couple weeks for them to build the profiles and then you will see your backlinks growing for a couple more weeks at least once they are built. I usually see the majority of the links in YSE (about 90%) by the end of a month or so.
It just goes to show that those who constantly hammer the idea of profile links are probably right about how it effects rankings and John’s service is one of the best, most consistent ones I have found.

These are good results. Are you getting blog commenting from John or was that from a different backlink approach? Does he only do profile/forum links? Also do you think it’s too much to have 5 links per page? I hate to not maximize my number of links but am wondering if maybe 2 or 3 would be more subtle than 5? Or maybe his list is tested for allowing that. Will you be doing anything to try to index the pages or just see how it goes?

The blog commenting was from my backlinks I had done prior to any of the profile links.
I believe you don’t have to use all 5 keywords and backlinks in your packages. I just chose to do 5.
No, I will not be doing anything to get the indexing done on profiles. I am just letting John have the reigns and I am just gonna sit back and watch the results.

We created a few Web 2.0 sites to give some sort of diversity to the profile backlinks and we posted a spun content in there. I was not expecting that you will get traffic from those blogs . But it was a nice surprise.

Fantastic review and I am happy for you on the results. Did your test site did the G dance? I remembered the last time when you did profile link with one of your site and went MIA for a couple of months, what’s the age difference between them?
I started experimenting with profile links a week ago and all of them were off the SERP. If John’s backlink package can eliminate the Dance, I will be very keen to sign up.
Hi John, I got a few questions, wouldn’t by creating Web 2.0 properties for Sara, skew the experiment results? Unless you are also creating for your clients who took up your packages, otherwise we wouldn’t make out exactly how well your packages work.

I’m also interested in this as well. I didn’t see web 2.0 listed as part of the service and I think it would’ve been good to see how without boosting them they would’ve done. Or let us know more the method you did use if people want to add that after your service. I have found profile links in past take a while to be recognized and some never are.

Hi Tinman,
Some of our clients’ websites do the Google dance and some do not. We cannot guarantee that the rankings of our clients’ websites will not undergo the Google dance especially during the backlinking.
With regards to the possibility of skewing the results with the use of blogs, I would say that what we are experimenting here is our 400 link package. When we do the big packages (400 and 800), we usually introduce other types of links so as to give diversity to the link type because I noticed that the efficacy of profile links will taper off if there are no other link types thrown in there.
My sites have not G danced from profile backlinks. I think you might be remembering when I said I brought a site back onto page 1 by using profile links. That particular niche blog got sandboxed (which I speculate a competitor tried to sabotage me because it suddenly had over 2k backlinks on a religious forum) and it was sandboxed from October 2009 until march 2010. In March 2010, I did Terry’s packet on the site and within 2 weeks it suddenly landed on page 1 and has now been #5 on page 1 since.
So far my site that John’s team is backlinking has improved in rankings from a direct effect from John’s backlinks service. Today it is #4 and so far is my highest adsense earner for the day.

unfortunately I had to abandon my 30 day authority site challenge. I have had an emotional rollercoaster the past week and I have been back and forth with getting paperwork ready and filing paperwork to get permission to move out of the area, interviewing lawyers and getting lawyer consultations and I am also packing and clearing out my house in order to get renters moved in my house ASAP. I don’t think I will be able to pick up this challenge again for a few weeks out. Its just too hectic right now and its hard for my mind to focus. I should be less stressed today but I still have some stress form all the drama. lol
I have managed to get the site to earn double what it earned last month, which should be a big deal in of itself but John’s Backlinks Philippines service also doubled one of my site’s earnings in only 1 week’s time so its no contest to see which method is going to help a site earn money faster.
I think its important to rank the main keyword in the top 3 of the SERPS before expanding the site. Then you can start backlinking the secondary keyword… and go through all of the main keywords. I wouldn’t bother backlinking any pages where the keyword got less than 500 monthly searches though (other than a few articles)

I do not use a plug-in for adding adsense. I just edited the code to the custom_functions.php. The code can be found here.

Silly question, but I wanted to know re: WP themes, why’d you go w/Thesis? I’ve seen/read the sales page, it seems impressive…but so does FlexSqueeze (I want to build sales pages for a number of products, looking for a good way to do that), and Joel Comm’s Socrates after their next upgrade…
Just curious why you chose that vs. just customizing, say, Thematic or CP Minimalist, etc., or what have you? How do you particularly use Thematic that a Clickbump theme wouldn’t touch?
I’m really curious, not trying to bust your chops, I just couldn’t see where I’d use that in building niche sites (which is where you and I might differ, possibly). Thanks, and : hope you’re having a less stressful Memorial Day weekend.

To my understanding Flexsqueeze is used primarily to setup squeeze pages. Meaning there would be no sidebar which would make it more difficult for the visitor to navigate a micro niche site’s other pages. When building micro niche sites, its important to follow G’s advice of making the site easy for a visitor to navigate through. Of course for a squeeze page this wouldn’t matter at all because you are not building squeeze pages to earn from adsense but rather you are earning from an affiliate product.
I went with Thesis because I wanted to be able to easily customize my sites link colors, background images, layout (as far as the # of columns) and a clickable banner. Thesis allows for all of these with just a click of a button or just a quick and copy and pasting of code into one of the Thesis php files. Plus I prefer to use a tag cloud in the sidebar (also not implemented on squeeze pages).
I love Clickbump’s theme but unfortunately in order to edit the link color, background color (images) and header image; you would have to know how to implement the CSS into the theme.
I have Thesis on about 4 of my sites right now and they seem to be doing pretty well in terms of CTR. I have the layout very similar to Xfactor’s template only they have designed headers, background images and they do not use a hint of the same color scheme.
My weekend is going ok. yesterday was really busy with another yard sale. I did ok but I was beat. Today I am hauling the leftover stuff to Goodwill and going through my walk-in closet to clear out things to either donate or sell. I’ll be selling my wedding gown on Craigslist and my dental assisting scrubs on craigslist too. I am seriously kissing Dental Assisting goodbye!

Anyhow: I used to work at a major hospital system in Cali, in the E.R. as a "Unit Coordinator" — making $20+O.T. wasn't too bad, I sorta miss the gun shot wounds at 2 a.m. and various stab victims…the adrenaline, ya know, not the entertainment value (there wasn't any in seeing victims and the underbelly of humanity's collateral damage) — glad to see you're all in!

Sara – do you use any specific programs for creating headers? I wanted to put together some high quality headers to give my sites a more professional feel – but my creative skills are zip, zilch, nada… I am no artist. Any suggestions? Just looking for something a bit more glossy, ideally I would like the page to be layed out with the header at the top, the h1 tag underneath it, then a few lines of text, then the adsense block, then the rest of my article.

There’s a free version of Photoshop, at least it’s pretty strong (better than MSPaint anyway) called “Pixlr” available at pixlr.com — you can even use Paint for that, it’s an easy way to create a button and hyperlink it to another page.
Someone else who gives good tutorials (hope you don’t mind, Sara) is FlippaChick (Yolanda) — she’s been web designing since she was 16, and has written a number of tutorials on her site that I would love to go through when I have time.
Which is never at the moment.

Just thought I would mention that flexsqueeze isn’t just a squeeze page template – it is also website with right hand sidebar. It is awesome as you can easily change things in the template by putting in yes/no to things. I use flezsqueeze for my adsense sites for this very reason and it makes making the template super easy without having to change css/html yourself.

@Dan – I create my own headers in Photoshop. I am somewhat savy in working with graphics. I used to design virtual clothing for a video game called There.com which allows players to create custom clothing and items for the videogame.
I don’t have any recommendations. I thought once-upon-a-time, Michelle Adams used to do custom headers for a really decent price but I didn’t see anything advertising a service on her blog so she may not be doing it anymore. Other than that, I don’t have any experience on header creators or free online services, although I know they exist.
@James – I could never work in an ER. Seeing blood associated with dental procedures is fine for me but seeing bigger injuries would freak me out.
weird. I hate the dentist’s chair! Brush my teeth like crazy, but they sorta…well, they’re witch doctors, man — for whatever reason it was always fun in the ER to the point you were hoping for the long lines of ambulances, GSW’s and stabs…pretty fun, you got a chance to make some life and death calls, watch babies being born in the parking lot because momma waited just a wee bit too long…
anyway. I was planning on becoming more full time in the medical field, entrepreneurship held more lucrative loot and that coveted freedom. hospitals were full of hourly and salaried zombies: live to work…didn’t want that.

My google analytics code is in my theme editor, index.php and the Feedjit code is in the sidebar using the text widget.

I think it would help if their sales page clarified this more because it seems like the entire focus of the sales page is to make a single squeeze page and they further imply this with the different squeeze templates and headers you can purchase as add-ons.

This has been really interesting. I currently use Paul’s package every month and it is definitely effective, but sooooo boring to do manually. I am always loathe to outsource backlinking, and anything else really, but this definitely sounds interesting.

I have used them for a 120 links and they did an excellent job and all links are still there. Disappointingly I have not seen the results that you have as most of my links have not been indexed even though I am running them through BE. Hopefully in time I will see similar results.Time will tell I suppose.
