Yesterday was a crazy day. Due to the back flow of Ezine article submissions waiting to be approved over the weekend, I had to wait until I received the approved confirmations on them and then go back and do my BB posts.
Here’s what I did for the day:
- wrote my blog post for the day
- wrote my article for ezines
- spun my new article with TBS plus the 2 articles from the weekend
- submitted 3 articles to SEOLV
- Queued up 60 posts to BB (20 for yesterdays post and 20 for each post made over the weekend
- Posted 3 of my approved ezine articles to Goarticles, only I changed the titles
Yesterday’s Adsense earnings: $33.91
Highest xfactor earner: $3.60
Authority site earnings: $0.00
Aww, c’mon!
Back Link Programs and Products I Tried
Ok, It was suggested that I compile a list of back link products I have used since I started the IM business in September 2008. These are totally based on my personal experiences with the products. I’m rating them on a scale of 1 to 5.
Unique Article Wizard
What it is: Naturally builds back links through article marketing. You submit spun content and and each day your content is submitted to article directories and blogs.
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 2/5
Fee: $67 per month
Pros:
- You can get 20-30 fully automated back links from one article submission
Cons:
- Even though you may be notified of your article being “submitted” to 50 sites a day, the articles are not actually approved with every submission.
- They are temporary links lasting 3-6 months. Very few links may actually last a year or more and those links are usually the links that were posted to article directories.
- Must rewrite the article 3 times for each submission
- Very time consuming to submit your articles through the system
- Sometimes it can take 24-48 hours for articles to be approved
- Back links are extremely slow at getting indexed and since it is nearly impossible to locate your various articles throughout the web, you are totally helpless in this aspect to ping them or get them indexed faster. Average time back links showed up for me in YSE was 4-8 weeks.
Angela Edwards Back Link Packets
What it does: Get 30 back links on popular high PR blogs, membership websites and forum profiles
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 3/5
Fee: $5.00 for a monthly packet of 30 back links (you can also contact Angela to purchase older packets)
Pros:
- Angela does a great job with explanation and features screenshots of how to log into each site, register for the account (when needed) and where to place your back link at
- Back links are indeed on high PR sites so you get link juice passed to your sites
- I have back links from these packets still showing up in YSE today even after 1 year (I first purchased Angela’s April 2009 packet)
Cons:
- Extremely time consuming to register for accounts, confirm and then go back to place your links
- Some links are very likely to be deleted with abuse from other packet members and black hat methods for getting her packets for free
- As some of the sites webmasters catch on, they start deleting inactive accounts, therefore losing your back links
Paul’s High Quality Backlinks
What it does: Get 50 back links on popular high PR blogs, membership websites and forum profiles
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 3/5
Fee: $8.00 for a monthly packet of 50 back links (you can also contact Angela to purchase older packets)
Pros:
- Paul also does a great job with explanation and features screenshots of how to log into each site, register for the account (when needed) and where to place your back link at
- High PR sites so you get link juice passed to your sites
- A few of my back links are still present 1 year later
Cons:
- Extremely time consuming to register for accounts, confirm and then go back to place your links
- As with Angela’s packets, Pauls can also be compromised and abused by other users
The Link Juicer (Such a waste I refuse to insert my affiliate link)
What it does: A network set up to submit mini posts (like Linkvana or blog blueprint) but also uses a special randomizing social bookmarking method for these blog posts
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 1/5
Fee: $47 per month
Pros:
- You can spin your posts and TLJ actually will not accept a post without it being submitted in spun syntax
Cons:
- The system to submit articles is unstable. I have experienced writing the blog posts and the system freezing up and losing my work or upon submitting my work it did not show up.
- The account creation for some of the blog networks never sent me confirmation emails to confirm my blogs that are utilized for posting back links in the system
- limited on links per day (10)
- All of my back links disappeared within 2 months after first showing up in YSE
Link Dozer
What it does: Helps you build up your own private blog network for building back links. It also creates social book marking accounts to bookmark your posts on your blog network.
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 1/5
Fee: $97 per month
Pros:
- Your blog network to post back links on is totally randomized
- account creation and confirmation is fully automated
- Good step by step video tutorials
- The creator; Kristina is very helpful and quick about helping you with any questions or errors
- Free access to the LD forum to get help
Cons:
- Huge learning curve to how the software works
- Very time consuming to use Kristina’s built in spinning software (took me 3 days to spin one 500 word article)
- Blog posts with your links are very slow to get indexed
- Even four months later none of my back links from the first article posting run are showing up in YSE. (I’m not sure if Kristina deletes blogs of former members. Perhaps that may be the case and why my back links never showed up).
Terry Kyle’s Backlinks Black Belt
What it does: Get a list of 400 forum profiles to place your back links on
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 4/5
Fee: $37 per month
Pros:
- All of the forum profiles are on high PR forums that are crawled daily by Google and visible to robots and visitors
- Terry’s list is extremely unique. You will not find these same sites available on other link packets
- Terry limits the amount of members per packet so the sites have a far greater chance of not being over-saturated
- The packets are watermarked and quite effective at preventing the packets from being leaked to black hatters to be abused
- I used 200 of the sites from my first packet received on a sandboxed site (page 4 for 7 months straight) with no other back linking method and 1 month later it was on page 1. Just two months later it sits at #5 on page 1.
Cons:
- If you do not use a booster or profile indexer, the links will not be indexed for 8-12 weeks
- You will need to purchase a semi-automated software to help you create, confirm and post your links with such as SEO Link Dominator, otherwise it would take you 2 weeks to get through all 400 links.
Daniel Tan’s Press Release WSO
What it does: A list of free press release sites. his ebook also teaches you how to write a quick press release with step-by-step on how to outsource this
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 5/5
Fee: $11.97 (It seems he raises the price every few months so jump on this. I originally got it for $7) this is a one time purchase
Pros:
- Its a genius way to get back links
- 2 months later and all links are still present
- some of the sites are high PR
Cons:
- Outsource this or this could eat up 2 hours of your day easily just to submit your press release to all the sites on the list
Jeremy Kelsall’s Back Link Service
What it does: Get back links to your site using 3 different keywords and up to 3 different URLs (if you choose). I think its best to use 1 URL with 3 different keywords for this service otherwise your URLS will be mix-matched all over the board
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 3/5
Fee: $25.00 one time fee for 2,000 back links
Pros:
- You do no work! Submit your info and forget!
- You receive your order fulfilled within 7 days with a full list to all links
- The back links drip in slowly. Its only been 1 month since I received my order but I have about 70 back links showing up. Not too shabby!
- Jeremy’s team helps make the links stick by creating profiles to look a bit more natural by adding bio information
- Jeremy puts money and effort into ensuring that the accounts are created and posted using different IPs
Cons:
- none
Update August 27, 2010: It has been 3 1/2 months since I used this service and out of my 2,000 profile links only about 40 are present. I am not sure if Jeremy has changed his service to improve getting the backlinks to stick better now since his launch but only having about 40 links stick is a significant amount of links lost.
The Link Racer
What it does: Promises to get you thousands of back links as your posts are syndicated throughout a private blog network listed on different Class C IPs
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 1/5
Fee: $17.00 per month
Pros:
- You can easily submit your article to the system
Cons:
- You cannot spin your articles
- It took 2 1/2 months for my back links to finally show up in YSE
- Some internet marketers I have privately spoken with via email have reported that their articles not being propagated
- Google has discovered some of the blogs in the network and has deindexed them. I received 58 back links from one article submission but 2 weeks later all 58 disappeared
- You initially start off with what looks like many back links but they drop off over time
- The creator seems a bit unprofessional in regards to his services when asked questions by potential consumers and active consumers
- The WSO thread has been closed and creator banned from the warrior forum
Traffic Kahuna
What it does: Its an all-in-one type network. It does the mini snippet posts like Linkvana, it has an article submitter that posts to blogs like Unique Article Wizard, it allows you to create 2 personal blogs to create posts for additional back links, it has the web-coop feature which is pretty cool in randomizing social book marking and it has a link exchange system.
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 4/5
Fee: $147.00 per month
Pros:
- The link exchange is top notch and boosts my rankings easily! You do not lose your back links once you quit your membership unlike all the other link exchange and 3 way link programs out there.
- Posting spun articles via the Syndicate Kahuna feature is easy and back links show up within 7 days
- The system for posting is pretty glitch-free and easy to use
Cons:
- It can be overwhelming with all of the features and not enough time in the day to utilize all of them to their full potential
- Some of the site’s features are incomplete or missing tutorials on how to use
- Your Syndicate Kahuna articles are posted to low quality blogs (i.e. auto blogs)
- Too pricey in my opinion, especially when I was only using the link exchange and Syndicate Kahuna
Blog Blueprint
What it does: Gets you quality back links as your back links are posted as mini blog posts spread over hundreds of blogs on separate class c IPs. Many of the blogs are high PR blogs from PR3-5
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 0/5
Fee: $67.00 per month
Pros:
- Back links are indexed within 4-7 days
- The back links pass on link juice to your site because many are posted on PR3-5 blogs
- A good chunk of my back links show up in YSE and help boost my rankings
- You also receive Link Blueprint for free (a link exchange I have yet to try out still
)
Cons:
- A daily limit of only 20 back links is allowed
- You have to copy and paste 20 individual posts daily
- Occasionally a post will get “missed” from being published due to being pushed back but newer posts
- Horrible communication from the creators to its members regarding issues about the network or posting system
Important update: 4 months later I have lost all of my backlinks from the blogs in the network
What it does: Gets you backlinks via article marketing. It works the same way that Syndicate Kahuna works. You submit spun articles easily and your articles get sent out to other blog owners that are members of SEO Linkvine and await approval.
Noteworthy Tip’s Rating: 1/5
Fee: $47.00 per month
Pros:
- It’s a Brad Callen product
- You can submit as many articles per day as you want
- Customer service is top notch. I had an issue with one of their applets and customer service got me through it and it worked properly.
- You get a 50 day money back guarantee, no questions asked
Cons:
- Acceptance rate of your articles can be very low if your article niches are too niche specific (best to go broad). On the contrary, blog owners have very niche specific blogs in the network and they are looking for niche specific articles; i.e. they are picky which lowers your acceptance rate. I had submitted 3 articles that sat in the submission queue for 3 days and only 1 of the 3 was published for a total of 1 time.
- Articles seem to only get submitted and published to the blog owners when they are first submitted. I had an article that I had submitted just 2 days after signing up and it had been accepted and published 32 times its first few days. After a few days it did not get published anymore times.
- Your articles are getting posted on PR- to PR0 blogs. Of all of my 100+ published articles, not one of them went on a blog with any sort of PR.
Overall I think this product has the potential to be a really great product but I think it needs major improvement. SEO LinkVine needs to guarantee article publishing by either purchasing some of their own domains and accepting and publishing them on their own or they need to some how encourage more blog owners to accept the articles. Otherwise I honestly feel this is a waste of both your time and money. Sorry Brad.

Hi Sara! Thanks so much for those reviews! Looks like you have some real gems here. I for one had never heard of Jeremy Kelsall’s Back Link Service. Hopefully he will keep offering this service on his site now that the Warrior Forum no longer allows backlink WSOs… =(
Well they have not closed Jeremy’s thread so it looks like its still good to go.
Sara,
Wow, thanks for a great review on these backlinking methods. Can you say what you use as a profile indexer or booster for the Terry Kyle packs? Also, how do you rate blog commenting in the mix and do you recommend any service for this? PS I think linkracer is not propogating anymore and there are definite problems with the service. It was good till 2 weeks ago but I’ve checked in google/yahoo my recent submissions and none are listed.
Hi Deb,
I personally have yet to purchase an indexer. I know so bad of me! I though that if I just pinged them all with my own list of 100 pinging sites through scrapebox, then all would be well. That is not the case. if I buy one in the near future, I will most likely get the SEOLD Quick Indexer put out by Stephen Hawkins (creator of SEO Link Dominator). I’d get it now only I am not working on forum profile linking during this 30 days challenge.
I just had to change my cons for Link Racer. originally I had reported getting 58 back links that showed up 2 1/2 months later, well just now I checked and all 58 have disappeared. Google hates his network.
Wow thanks so much Sara!! I did subscribe to Terry’s packets actually in April when you said they were taking new orders and I like the fact that they are limited. So many other programs you have tried – the press release one sounds like a really good idea too (especially since it doesn’t have a monthly fee). Thanks so much for doing this I really appreciate it. I will definitely be using this post as a reference in the near future when I’m marketing my new sites properly.

You’re welcome Ruth. It was rather interesting for me to actually sit down and compile my list. I cannot believe how many products I have tried. lol Hopefully it will help some people spend their money on systems a bit more wisely.
True ‘dat!
Ive done pretty well in my year of being in the IM game not to buy many things, but lately have had the income to do so.
Still, so many things were a waste, or I just flat-out forgot that I paid for them. lol
Mr. Alias recently posted..Welcome
Sara,
One more thing. Can you use Terry’s packs for multiple sites if you buy one pack or are there any restrictions? PS Are you waiting a bit to review Brad Callen’s network and did you ever try the 5000 sites that are claimed by articleranks and article cartel networks ?
Deb
Yes, you can use Terry’s packets on multiple sites. However each site will need a new account created to do so. SEOLD makes this easier to do and it also helps with keeping the sites and links you already created easily organized.
I have another question – are Jeremy Kelsall’s links forum profile links like Angela or Terry’s packets? because it sounds like a crazy good deal for 2,000 of them done for you! I guess they drip in slowly enough so that it doesn’t make Google suspicious?
.-= Ruth – Web Career Girl´s last blog ..Writing is Becoming Part of My Routine =-.
Jeremy’s links are forum profile links. I think they are slightly different that Angela’s and Terry just has those one of kind top choice meaty selected forums so I am not sure that the two can be compared. The only thing is Jeremy uses the same sites. When I looked back on some of my links of profiles I would see like 100 other accounts created the same day. So unless the forum gets that kind of registration numbers as a norm, then the web owners might start looking into the accounts being created a bit more and discover the links in the profiles and then delete the accounts. But, so far my links are still dripping in, so all looks good.
Because Jeremy does not ping or use boosters to index the profiles, Google will find them naturally on its own. So no need to worry about getting sandboxed.
I see – thanks Sara
I think I will give it a go on one of my sites to test it out. It’s such a good price I guess I don’t blame them if they have to use the same forums, we’ll see how it goes. Out of interest, which of these methods do you focus mainly on now? I see in a comment below you said you’re tempted to focus more on article marketing in future – I’m tempted by this too. Just have to figure out which sites are best to submit my articles to.
.-= Ruth – Web Career Girl´s last blog ..Writing is Becoming Part of My Routine =-.
Yea, at least with article marketing you have guaranteed back links on authority sites. The only way those suckers will get de-indexed is is someone decided to drop the hammer on your article account with a ban. But since I write all my own articles now and they are 100% original, I do not worry about ezines getting finicky.
I will also have to do some research into finding the best article directories. I know that ezines, goarticles, article dash and Buzzle are all highly recommended ones. I no longer use Article Base since I know they have no-follow links. This list of high PR article directories looks good but I am not sure how many of them have a no-follow policy.
Out of the listed methods I mainly use Blog Blueprint but I definitely recommend Daniel Tan’s WSO and Jeremy’s WSO.
Wow, that’s quite a list! Thanks for sharing.

Great list, thanks for posting your reviews! I didn’t see SEOLinkVine on that list, but I’m guessing that is because it’s pretty new still and you’re still evaluating it.

.-= Michelle´s last blog ..Evaluating My AdSense Sites =-.
On may 30th will be 1 month of me trying SEOLV. Although a few of my posts are showing up in YSE in about a week, I have to say I am quite disappointed to see my first article launched on 4/30 has only been published 21 times and that number has not moved in the past week.
The second thing is the back links are being posted to PR- sites. I am still convinced fewer back links on higher PR sites is the way to go versus thousands of junk back links on PR- sites.
That is a very long post Sara-over 2k words. It would take me like 2 hours to write that!! Very informative-Thank you. It is interesting to know how many back link services are out there-wow.
I am currently using UAW-well I just started I want to give it a few months before I switch to something else to see how it pans out!
I am gonna ask you to write my posts for me, but I did read the whole thing!

.-= Kelly´s last blog ..New Niche Site Goals =-.
Definitely see what works for you. Maybe my experience is not the norm but I did use it for 3 months in 2009 and then for 3 months in the beginning of 2010 and still my findings show no improvement from a year ago and sadly my links that were showing up last year are no where to be found today. That’s the most frustrating part about it all.
Hi Sara,
As you are try to give you websites some authority, you will be adding more pages to your John adsense themed sites, On the niche site template there is a small menu on the right(contact, about us etc.) and then he has other pages (menu) on his site around the header, info bar area. So I persume that as you will be adding more pages then you won’t have room to put them in the original area John has them, so where are you going to put them?
thanks
Paul
Yes, I am listing additional pages in the sidebar. I have set it up so that my first 5 pages are like featured posts and below them are my nearer posts. I’ll probably list 10 new posts at any given time.
This came at a great time for me. I’m still fumbling around, trying to form a good backlinking ritual for my sites.
I haven’t tried most of those except for Paul’s & Angela’s packets. I quit using them because most of the sites wouldn’t accept my submission by the time I got to it (probably from all the spam they got).
I have tried Article Underground which is kind of pricey. But it’s like Link Racer in that it looks like most of the blogs have been de-indexed or dropped page rank. They were advertised as being high ranking, but most have no rank at all and none are above a #2.
I think that any system that has some of their blogs de-indexed is not a good system to work with. I just see it as throwing your money out the window. I’m always looking for back link methods with long-term results and it seems like many systems today are short-term only. That’s my biggest frustration and why I am re-thinking of just sticking with good ‘ol fashioned article marketing.
What do you mean by “good ‘ol fashion” article marketing? what tools do you use? or are you meaning “manual”???
Mr. Alias recently posted..Welcome
Yup manual. I mean going back and just using ezines, articlebase and maybe article alley.
I ran an experiment to test individual backlinking programs and mixing them up to see which is the most effective method. Based on similar site launching methods, my experiment on UAW is it responds better after I send it to BBP or BLS.
If I send new sites straight to UAW after the launching methods, the test sites hardly have any noticeable movement. Sites that I send to BBP after launching methods, responded after about 40 posts (in a week) and stop. After that I send them to UAW, almost all sites respond again and started moving up in SERP. I suspect the launching methods got to do with that.
Jamesthejust and Mikeiser do have positive results using UAW and I think their launching method is similar (James care to verify?) I did a separate test on my slightly older sites that had backlinked with articles and web 2.0 sites, similar to BBP, they responded.
I did manage to get a PR2 for one of my couple of months old site using BBP. As for Backlink Solutions, YSE register the links like wildfire, much more and faster them BBP and UAW. The first site that I use to experiment on BLS, I schedule 50 posts. A couple of weeks later it had more then half of it registered in YSE.
All my test sites responded well except for my woman inner wear sites. The links doesn’t seem to show up. BLS seems to be on par with BBP in terms of performance on moving SERP, but they have higher post limits. I think 33 posts a day. They comes with spinning function and you can schedule the number of posts you like to submit, they are literally set and forget, unlike BBP, you need to manually uploading the 20 posts daily. But that come with a higher price tag.
Right now I am testing on Terry’s profile links and edu links, mixing them up with the three programs. Hope to find a winning combination that can share with you guys soon.
.-= Tinman´s last blog ..Day 47 – VA To Help In MY Online Home Based Business =-.
I think many of my sites received some PR due to my BB posts so I am convinced its a winner, at least 90% of the time. I often have a love-hate-love relationship with BB.
There has been more and more talk on John’s forum about dropping back linking services and just focusing on article marketing. I am really tempted to do the same except I will probably hang onto BB for a bit. maybe use it to start sending some link juice to my ezine author pages.
Wait, Im sorry, what is “BB” ??
I’m just getting caught up – thanks for this list! That is a lot of programs to try – it’s nice to get reviews from a trustworthy source
I’ll probably revisit a couple of those. I have a hard time spending money on monthly subscriptions unless they are working for me!

I have found your blog very interesting. Usually I don’t bookmark every site I find interesting. But here I done that because you have lot of information to share. I’m also planing to start xfactor micro niche sites. Just curious about your expenses for outsourcing for micro niche sites per month. Can you tell them in a next post. Please.

Your post is really very appreciative, except this post I also checked your other posts were really very informative and useful!
Thanks a lot!
love the post … you are not the only one that has bought crap ..
,, good work on the post lots of info and good reviews ..
Thank you very much for this post. I’ve been investigating UAW, and I think you’ve persuaded me not to purchase it. Terry Kyle’s link packet looks like something worth investigating as well.
What do you think about the long-term safety of some of these services? I know that XFactor, for example, was scared off Linkvana because of the possibility of getting deindexed.

I like what you said about Angelas packet. Good stuff and sound advice.
Hi Rob, no I haven’t heard of Matt Carter or Link Traffic Nirvana.
