On July 29th, I made a post that talked about how I did nothing to one of my micro niche sites other than incorporate some more LSI words in the content and with just a few weeks time it was ranking on page 1 again which was quite an improvement from being completely lost in the SERPs. I decided to try the same tactic as outlined in that post with one additional step which was a tip that Lisa said helped get some of her sites ranking again. It’s been about 2 1/2 weeks now and here are the results from 3 sites I tested this out on:
Site #91′s ranking on July 29th: #400 in the SERPs (ouch)
Ranking at today: No change
Site #92′s ranking on July 29th: #205
Ranking at today: #114
Site#93′s ranking on July 29th: #220
Ranking at today: #136
As you can see only one of the 3 sites remained unchanged and that particular site is going to need further help. But the other two sites did report some changes so this is good!
I plan on letting these sit untouched for another few weeks and see if they are capable of moving up in ranks alone or if I will need to start putting more effort into them with article marketing etc.
Yesterday’s adsense earning was $24.14 and today is looking good at already $19.52 and it’s only 11am so I am expecting to hit over $30 today.
I spent the majority of yesterday getting my stuff unpacked and organized all of my belongings. I a still exhausted from the packing up I had to do on the fly for Saturday and Sunday and this weekend will be even busier since I will be having a final garage sale and then packing up the few pieces of furniture I plan on bringing back to my parents home such as my california king bed! Then the following weekends will consist of cleaning up the house with painting over the purple walls in my room and just painting the rest of the house and new carpets.
It’s hot here in Fresno as usual. Yesterday it was 97. Luckily my parents run the AC to keep the house comfortable and my office is extremely cool.
Well off to work on some article writing and my breakfast!

I read that post from July and finally understood what LSI was. Glad that your efforts were successful for the most part. I am incredibly impressed with that AdSense daily total. Someday I hope to be able to join you in that regard. Better than hoping, I am working hard and seeing what I can do as well.

Hi Sara,
Have you notice any upward movement in sites where you didn’t incorporate LSI changes? I’m asking because it seems some people are seeing sites starting to return without making any changes at all to them. Although I’m sure adding LSI can’t hurt, if these sites would have moved up anyway (impossible to tell, I know, but you could look and see how similar sites are doing), it might be that your time is better sent building backlinks instead.

Unfortunately I didn’t note every single site that was hit by mayday. I got really discouraged just seeing site after site no longer ranking on page 1 so I only noted about 20 of my best performers exact positions.
Right now I am still focusing on back linking my top performers or sites that are close to hitting page 1. I’ll probably still work on some LSI and meta tag fixing on a few sites once a week but my primary focus is still article marketing and profile linking.
Hi Sarah
Just want to ask you whether you have the same adsense ID on all 90+ sites of yours? I am always fearful when it comes to adding adsense because I know they will get a visual inspection. My sites are not spammy but they are not the most best sites either. I have over 70 over sites but I only put adsense on 6 of them. Am I missing out?
Hi Aaron,
Yes, I have the same adsense ID on all of my sites since I only have 1 adsense account. You are definitely missing out if you only have adsense on 6 of your 70 sites. If you are worried about some sites being a little short on content, then I would go ahead and add a few pages to those sites before placing adsense on them. I know there are some people that still prefer to build 1 page micro niche sites but I still think having a minimum of 5 pages is the way to go. Then build out the sites to 20-50 pages to make your site look like more of an authority site. More pages = more $$$ earned.
A funny cheat I just discovered is to have a HubPage account with an author score of 75 or greater (not hard to do), and then logout, and then comment – only use your own site login data.
It will take a day or two, but takes very little work, once you have an account at that point.
Email me if you want to use my account.
Anyhow – I also caught wind of a sorta kinda may possibly grey-yamaka…if not black beanie…
I just tried it out, it seems to work, and works pretty quickly – but not sure about the efficacy of the method. It involves signing up to a number of WhoIs types of analytics sites, inputting your URL and then exiting.
So far it seems to work – but again: not sure how long these links last. bit.ly is another one I just discovered, I’m sure tinyURL is the same – you can open a free account with Bit.ly and the cool part that everyone may or may not know is that you can customize your URL – pretty cool for Tweets.
What happens though is that these URLs are stored at Bit.ly’s server (and TinyURL, etc.) – more backlinks. And darn if they ain’t quick…
I was going to post about these tips but whatev’.
You know the frustrating thing? Every time I sit down to write my own articles for article marketing – I tell myself I’m going to Mike Iser it. Just 250 words, move on…next thing you know I’ve got another 800 or 1000.
Which SHOULD be 4-5 articles instead. Darn these fingers!!
Good to hear about your earnings, btw. Good news, that!
Input your URL, shorten it, and

That does sound sneaky James. lol I have been contemplating the past few days on writing a few hubs to help rank some of my top micro niche site earners since they are not quite in top position but I never thought about the commenting part. haha
Yeah…every shortcut helps. The lack of time will make me a Blue-Farter yet.

@sara, nice work. You guys make me realise that am not really making good money online. I still dont get it wth adsense but would really love to get into it coz It looks far easier to earn as opposed to ClickBank.
Anyhow, glad you are successful at this
Hey Dennis! I was also pretty skeptical about earning with adsense. If you look at my adsense earnings form when I first started out, my earnings were an absolute joke. I still support and stand behind John Xfactor’s system as being the no brainer method in earning with adsense. If you follow his guide and article market as he suggests, your sites will rank and you will start receiving clicks soon after your sites rank. The system made me a believer when I was able to double my adsense earnings in just a few short months. It does require some patience and persistence at first but seeing how so many people I personally know and are successful with it, I know it will work for anyone that follows the ebook advice.
Hmmm, This makes me want to re-write that one site that doesn’t show up at all in the serps with LSI words regardless how how stupid they sound. I might have to ask your advice about that
. Hope you are doing well young lady, and it’s awesome you have a cool office. Hey seen as you’re only 4 hours away now we might have to do lunch one day and you can show me your stuff
(Thats what he said! Oh dear haha).
Take care, Ben

LOL Ben you are a riot! Yea we should meet up for lunch some time. That would be cool!
I definitely think its smart to incorporate LSI words and I would make that a habit from here on out on any new sites you build. Put in that step now as part of your “must do” before moving onto another site so you don’t have to come back later and edit your content. There are only benefits from doing that and that is more traffic. The more LSI words you have in your content the greater the chances of bringing in additional traffic for those LSI words so its definitely a win-win situation.
Its a good job I check your site often as I didn’t get an email about a reply. What if the LSI for example given by the google wonder wheel for say for examply my plumbing website was: Welder Orange cOunty, electrician Orange county, Carpetner range county, Meier Plumbing orange county. None of these are relevent to my site but google has picked them out. Shall I find a way to include them anyway.

I would say no because they are not relevant to your content. Google must think they are relevant because they are all “home repair services”. I would only use LSI words that you know are directly related with your niche.
I think your example is a prime example as to why the Ultimate Keyword Theme Extractor is more powerful than the wonder wheel.
I just used TUKTE for your main keyword and this is what it gave me as some LSI words:
orange county
plumbing repair
water heater
water heaters
plumbing services
plumbing problems
plumbing problem
orange county plumbers
orange county plumbing
plumbers orange county
california plumbing
drain cleaning
It also listed about 8-10 cities around the OC too.
I’d have to say that maybe you should look into ranking a site for Orange County plumbers and rent the links out once you have the site ranking….if that makes any sense…
So: rank a local site, write up material on a given niche, then approach the local plumbers, etc, who have websites or not to rent out links or advertise their business.

Ben,
Your site has spelling and grammer mistakes.
>>I just tried it out, it seems to work, and works pretty quickly – but not sure about the efficacy of the method. It involves signing up to a number of WhoIs types of analytics sites, inputting your URL and then exiting.
I’m not sure how much those types of backlinks are worth for ranking, but Scrapebox has a Rapid Indexer addon that will automatically run through a batch of those types of sites.
That is one of the things I did for a client’s site and they ended up with three minor keywords on page 1 (one at #3) within 24 hours.
Thanks, Carla – I have a ScrapeBox “must purchase” note to self. =)

Going to go through your site 2day to see about how you drive traffic etc. Maybe get some ideas. One thing i wondered was: how do you measure competition although i’ll prob find this by reading previous posts
and 2. how hard do you guys find it to rank for inner pages. Does it carry as much weight as a regular site if you backlink correctly?
Hi Jon,
I measure my competition by seeing how many websites are on the page 1 search results (main keyword without quotes) with either a PR – or a PR 0. If I see at least 2 sites with such PRs then I know I have a chance to rank on page 1 and with a little work can get at least in the top 4 positions. I usually don’t even care whether or not there are PR4s or higher on the page as long as there are 2 sites with that PR-/0 criteria then I am good to go.
I do find ranking inner pages to be quite difficult. I don’t know if it is a bit easier to do so now since the Mayday update because I have even seen some of my inner pages ranking for my main keyword but back in position 70+ or so. I still do my best to article market my inner pages and toss some social bookmarks at them.
Hi I just discovered this blog, I began reading this posts and then ended up sidetracked following links referencing other posts in the site – really interesting! I am interesting in reading any more testing you perform about this so I will be peeking in, you have a lot of good info here. Ill also be checking out that tool you recommended. Question – how long had it been since you made any updates on the site in question before implementing the LSI changes? I am curious to know if simply updating the site with a little new content and referencing the update by writing the article was a big help to the boost? Hm, I may perform some tests updating old sites with non LSI keywords vs updating a site with LSI to see the difference. Thanks for the idea!
The sites mentioned in this test were built in March so the content remained the same and no backlinking efforts have been made since march as well.
Reasoned i asked is because the only reason to get the inner pages is to add traffic well and some more content to your site but if u can’t rank for kws easy then
that sucks. For me i just look at number of yahoo backlinks for top 3. But that PR thing prob will be nice too. Do you check pr0 or – for top 10 or top 4. It seems pretty hard to find a kw that has pr 0 or – ranking top 4 with enough searches.
No, I don’t pay attention as to whether the top positions have the PR-/0, I only look to see that there are at least 2 sites somewhere within 1-10 positions. Its definitely a bonus if you can find pr -/0 sites ranking int he top 4 positions but not necessary.
