If any of you follow Griz’s blog then perhaps you have already read his post on double indexing which helps you gain 2 of the 10 positions on page one for your keyword. This sounds like a great strategy to me for my Xfactor Micro Niche sites. (Oh if you want to read Griz’s post, it’s right here Problogger.com What is Griz Doing.
Now the reason why this really peaked my interested was for 2 reasons:
1.) I had spent the past 2 days writing new content for site #8, only to realize that while getting organized with OneNote last night (more on this later) I had already hired a writer to write the same content for me. So now I will have 5 articles on the same content I already wrote about and I was thinking about how will I be able to use them now.
2.) Owning 2 positions out of the 10 on the first page of Google increases your chance for more traffic = more money!
So I decided what the heck?! Why not use my articles received from my writer to have 2 pages of content for the exact same keyword on my sites? Why stop there? Why not go back and do this for all of my websites. I am going to do this for the main keyword for all of my xfactor sites that are currently up. I may not try and employ this idea on all the inner pages of all the sites but I sure would love to test this out with one site; which fortunately I will be able to do because of my disorganization on keeping track of what my writer’s were writing for me this week.
Use OneNote 2007 To Get More Organized
I read how someone mentioned they were keeping track of each site by using Microsoft OneNote 2007. Most people do not even realize they have this loaded on their system. Since I discovered it and toyed around with it, I have fallen in love. This will really save me time and help me keep myself better organized, proficient and keep me on task.
Here is how I set up a “notebook” for my oDesk jobs. In the “Need Written tab” I can jot down the niche topics I need to prepare to write for upcoming sites to build (whether this reminds me to write them myself or outsource them.)
In the tab to the right that says “Assigned writings” I have a list of hired writers and what niche they are currently writing for me.
One note is also great for allowing you to link files too. I linked my articles that were rewritten filed under my writer’s names so I can keep track. You can easily open your files and view them.
My favorite part about OneNote is that you can drag and drop web pages such as the pages where your ezine articles are right onto your notebook. It automatically displays the link to the webpage too so you don’t have to. Now I can easily click on the ezine link right from my notebook and view my articles that are linking back to my sites.
So yea, I spent a few hours tonight creating notebooks in OneNote for my upcoming sites and I will be going back creating notebooks for the already completed sites.
