In a previous post I had talked about using oDesk to hire 4 article writers that were expected to write me 10 articles each. I have received all 40 of my articles and I can say I am very impressed with the articles. 3 of my writers were from the Philippines and one is from Pakistan.

On average I paid each person $13.50 to write 10 unique articles each. I had decided that after getting back their first batches of articles, I would determine if I would keep them on “staff” to continue writing new articles for me each week. So far out of the 4 article writers, I have rehired 2 of them to continue writing for me and I increased their pay to $2 per article. They were eager to take on new articles for me. One article writer declined saying she normally charges $8 per article but misunderstood my job post. I guess she assumed I was paying $13.33 per hour and that it was not a fixed fee. I am still waiting for an answer from the final writer to see if she would like to be rehired.

I also had a new writer show interest in my oDesk job position and so I am testing her out this week with 10 articles for $13.33. She is from South Africa. (I don’t know why it’s important to announce where they come from but I guess it’s to help people feel at ease when outsourcing in other countries.)

I will say again that the key to using oDesk writers is to look over their sample articles. If they do not supply any samples on their portfolio, ask for them to email you some. I admit that even their first contact to me is a deciding factor. If their introduction to me as to why they want the job has run-on sentences and other grammar issues, I do not even consider the candidate.

I can honestly say that oDesk is a great asset to my hubs and I don’t know why I didn’t consider using the service sooner. I have heard good things about human re-writer but recently they have raised their prices, so you can actually get rewrites done much cheaper on oDesk. I have seen re-writers accept jobs at $0.60 per rewrite.

In the next few days I will be posting up the articles for my hubs and I will be posting up my first set of article rewrites on ezines and infobarrels.

Surprisingly, today I received a click for $1.47 from one of my infobarrels. That is one of the highest clicks I have received out of my hubpages and infobarrels. Interesting!
