The past few days have been so exciting for me. I am hoping to report back in sometime next monday with some exciting earning news. Stay tuned because it is top secret!
I also posted and hired my first Odesk job. I really hope things go smoothly with it. You can find some really amazing deals on there.
Meanwhile, I am working on getting my things together and packed for a family trip to Yosimite! I celebrated my 33rd birthday on the 24th and so this next weekend we will be celebrating it with my family and some family friends. We are spending the night in a home my parents rented near a beautiful lake just outside Yosimite. I’ll be gone friday until monday evening so I won’t be updating, or even working on my business! make sure you follow me on twitter and perhaps I will twitter if I have a signal.
Oh gosh so excited!
My Dragon naturally Speaking hasn’t arrived yet and I really hope it does before I leave. I would hate to have it left out on my porch while I am gone.

Well so far there was a misunderstanding. I showed him a sample of what I wanted for the SECOND time today. So hopefully he understands what I am looking for now.

So far ODesk has been quite an experience. I made the first mistake of not interviewing before hiring. Even though my job clearly stated that I needed a WordPress theme created using Photoshop so that I can use the PSD files to change my site name text etc. The designer only designed the website template without actually coding the theme. Now I have to deal with the fact that he has no clue what I’m talking about when I tell him I need it coded. So now I have my themes, and I may have to hire another person to actually code my templates. I feel like such a newbie . So let this be a lesson learned that if you should use oDesk definitely interview them prior to hiring. I just chose the person based on the skills listed (which he did list WordPress knowledge). Next time I will definitely interview someone prior to using the service. I think there are plenty of great services available on oDesk, but mistakes like this will cost you.

I that is always my fear with outsourcing. If things go well it’s great, but other times you can end up just losing time and money.
The situation I would like is to have a VA working consistently for me, so that once you find the right person you can keep them. But I’ll need to make ALOT more before that will happen
