Whew! I am already beat and today is Monday; the start of a new work week. I have truly been a busy bee. I am sure Mike will be thoroughly proud of my effort this week and especially that fact that I worked both Saturday and Sunday; which I usually do not work weekends.
Here is what I was busy doing this past week:
Outsourcing on oDesk
Last Sunday (and even until this morning) I was placing job positions on oDesk, interviewing, temp hiring both; content writers and article rewriters. I was looking for 2 more content writers and 2 more article rewriters. I got lucky with 1 content writer and 1 article rewriter immediately. Both of these writers surpassed my expectations and really are going to make the difference in my site building. The rest of the temp hires turned out to be duds.
I had some that took 4 days to turn in their test rewrites and when they did, the content had 50% duplicate content and then another rewriter had the nerve to turn in 80% duplicate content. Oy vey! I had specified I wanted them to be at least 85% unique. Some people cannot follow instructions.
I also have one woman who has yet to turn in her articles and it has been 6 days when I had clearly started I needed them turned in within 12-15 hours.
I have 1 more content writer and another rewriter doing their test articles right now and I think they might be it.
Oh and I found this nifty FireFox add-on called FoxClocks that displays on the lower left hand side what time it is in other countries. I have it set to show me what time it is in the Philippines and what time it is in Spain (since one of my new writers is in Spain). It’s so handy so I can easily know when I am sending their assignment to them and when I can realistically expect the work done.
Keyword Research
I spent most of my days Monday and Tuesday conducting enough keyword reasearch that would supply me with more keywords to domain register and to prepare for my content writers.
I also prepared rewrite packets for my rewriter.
Traffic Kahuna
I decided to dive into Traffic Kahuna and start completely the steps necessary. I am so in love with Traffic Kahuna! It is so easy to use. Every step is detailed out in easy steps. Due to how busy I was with research and all the outsourcing preparation; I would just work on a few steps a day. I still have about 4 more steps to complete on my first xfactor site but I am already seeing my site move up in rankings. It was on page 3 before I started a Traffic Kahuna campaign on it and today it is on page 2.
Traffic Kahuna definitely takes up some time if you do not have all of your articles for it outsourced but it is 100x easier to use than Link Dozer. Although I think Link Dozer is excellent, I find that TK has easier steps for a single campaign and you get so much more with it.
TK offers several methods for receiving back links through blogging networks, popular web 2.0 properties, article directories, social networks and and a 3 way link exchange.
Traffic Kahuna is sort of like getting unique article wizard, book marking demon (with a system far more unique than you could ever mimic with BMD), Link Dozer and an automated link exchange system all wrapped into one! I can see why it is worth $147.00 a month.
The best thing about it, is even if you do not have the time to try and complete all the steps for a site, there are about 2 other steps you can do that takes less than 10 minutes to set up to run on a new site you want to promote. These two steps are through the use of their 3 way link exchange (it is not a reciprocal link exchange and drips them slowy) and another step used called the Web2Co-op (the system that makes BMD look like a small fish in a large pond).
Actually Building Xfactor Sites
I spent Saturday night building, pinging and bookmarking 2 new xfactor sites as well as Sunday night building two more sites and adding the last 2 pages to the sites built on Saturday night.
So I built 4 xfactor sites this weekend, which was my goal. I wanted to start building 2 websites a day beginning February and continue to do so for the next 2 months. I have never worked so hard in my life. Last week was a brutal week and I even had one day where I worked a full day in the dental office; which was also my last day. My full time job is now internet marketing.

Wow it’s great to see you’re working so hard. I hope you keep up the momentum, but I’m sure you will with such a great goal ahead of you. Thanks for the link to FoxClocks – that will really help me since I’m in the UK and people I work for/ with are spread all over the world! I am contsantly Googling ‘time in xxxx’ lol!

Glad to see that you are now doing what you love full time. Have fun and keep sharing all your secrets of success and failures as well. We all learn from each other, there is no cookie cutter way in this business huh.
Fabian Ramirez´s last blog ..How to upgrade WordPress
Thanks Fabian! I will definitely update any failures and success. Hopefully I am beyond the failures with micro niche sites. lol
I do agree there is no cookie cutter method to anything. Even though I used John’s ebook as an initial guide; I do not do things exactly as he does. I think that’s what makes this business so great because if you absolutely hate doing something or find it isn’t working; you are not set in stone to have to do things exactly as laid out for you. You’re the author of your success and you can edit things however you want!
Sara,
I’m glad you are free of the job. You are very determined and have a plan you can duplicate. I look forward to reading the journey. PS I used to use comment kahuna and maybe it was the same guy. I’m always a little hesitant about linking networks even if they are one way and try to find my own blogs etc to avoid footprints. Do you think this system is pretty footprint-foolproof?
Deb
Yes, Comment Kahuna is owned by the same people. I must say that the creators of TK are top notch. I asked them about getting an additional license for one of their softwares and they were glad to help me out and now one my rewriters is thrilled because she loves the software too.
