I cannot believe I am approaching 3 weeks of being moved back home with my parents. It doesn’t feel it has bee that long and maybe its because I still have so much on my plate. Right now my parents and I have been making trips back to San Jose to clear out stuff I do not plan on bringing back home with me and some stuff I need to place in a storage unit. My dad is a contractor, so he has been working on putting in tile floors in the master bathroom and this week he is painting the inside. Goodbye purple bedroom walls…sniff. I am hoping my sister finds a place in the next 2 weeks so that she can move out and we get some renters in by the end of September. Once I get renters in place, I know I will be able to truly have an enormous financial burden lifted off my shoulders and I will be able to start to breathe again.

Last week I was working on a site I had mentioned in a previous post. This site had caught my attention when out of no where it just started earning money consistently everyday. When I had first noticed the site, I saw that it has earned $20 in about 10 days but when I looked at the adsense earnings it did in the last 7 days it was even more surprising because it had earned $25…even!

I finally placed Google Analytics on it around the 12th of August and it is absolutely astounding to me on how the site is getting traffic. It’s still rather a mystery to me because its not getting search traffic but rather referral traffic from google. I am not even sure what that means exactly. All I know is that one particular inner page is getting the bulk of the traffic from Google in some manner.

As you can see, only about 4% of my traffic is coming from search inquires the rest is from referrals. But what is Google doing to make it be a referral rather than a search result??? I have no clue.

Well whatever…all I know is that this site is getting a decent amount of traffic and its primarily due to one inner page. The even crazier thing is that the particular page that is getting the bulk of the traffic/pageviews is not ranking at all. It is no where to be found on the first 10 page results. This proves to me more so than ever that it is important to slip in those LSI words into your content because the keywords that are getting the traffic on throughout my site were not keyword phrases I was purposely targeting but rather they contain one or two words of my original keywords that I was specifically targeting.

The main reason why I am writing this post is to encourage all of you that have been building xfactor micro niche sites to look at the bigger picture for your micro niche sites because there indeed is a much larger picture. John “Xfactor” just laid out the basic foundation for you to begin with a micro niche site but he has stated time and time again that his purpose was never to bust out tons of short 1-5 page micro niche sites. The term “micro niche site” has been interpreted by the majority (myself included) to mean a micro site. That is not what the term “micro niche site” means. A micro niche site means its a small piece of a larger niche. For example if we used the weight loss niche well then a micro niche of weight loss would be “weight loss tea” or whatever.

One of the most recent videos that I was privileged to view that was available on John’s private forum; which is now closed for good, due to some jerk that ripped off another forum member when selling off some micro niche sites. Apparently the transaction went sour and they have now dragged John into the drama because it was “his forum” in which the two parties involved made the sale arrangements. Anyhow, in the video John was touching again on the very same topics I just mentioned. Like how many people have run out and bought up tons of domains and made quick 1-5 page sites and moved onto the next site. He was saying in the video how great it would be if people could just focus on maybe one site at a time. Take your one site that is earning $1-5 a day and build it out. Just work on it a few months and watch to see that the site earns about 5 times the amount it was before. Who wouldn’t want to see a site go from earning $5 a day to earning you $25+ a day after just a few months of working on it. This video was very motivational and helped me confirm that what I have been working on pretty much since the mayday update happened is the right choice for me. At the end of the day you have to think of your xfactor sites as if you were a fisherman. The larger the net (larger the site size in content pages) the more fish (visitors) you will catch. More fish = more $$$!

So last week I worked on the site mentioned in this post earlier which has the screenshots of the analytics. On Sunday this site did $8.89 on its own, and let me again remind you that my site is not ranking….at all! Yet, it somehow is earning consistently everyday and maybe its because I am spreading its wings wider. It now has 13 blog posts. Last week I added about 4 pages of new content and then I spent the rest of my days writing articles to submit to ezines and then resubmitted the same ones once they were approved to Articlebase. I also bookmarked my new pages with Bookmarking Demon.

I will probably continue to work on the site to bring it up to about 60 pages and make sure each page has links from article marketing and then move onto the next of my most profitable sites. Now, I will have domains that need to be renewed from here on out and I see myself letting go of about 70% of my sites. I will have to take a good look at my domains and if I felt they earned at least more income than the domain renewal for the year and sites I see with potential, I will keep. Otherwise I will let the domains expire and just take the content from the sites to use as article submissions. That way I will feel at least the content does not go to waste, especially considering I had invested quite a bit in outsourcing them. I am writing all of my own content right now though. I want to have pride in these authority sites so I don’t see myself outsourcing my site content at this time.

Update on September 1, 2010:

Ah-ha! As James and Zaheer have mentioned the referral traffic is indeed from my images. When I did a keyword search for my main keyword and then clicked on image results, one of my photos is #2 at the top so its no wonder why I am getting a bunch of referral traffic from Google. I love Google! (Well at least for today.)
